Collected Thoughts

This is from yesterday :

Here's the first bit about my move. Today Mom and I worked on some of the furinture that needs to be painted. Most of it does because it doesn't match anything and has been painted before. Today we worked on one of the dressers - it's been in my Dad's family for awhile in back in the late 60s or early 70s my grandfather "anitqued" it this god awful green.

So today we sanded it, primed it, and put the first coat of black paint on. There will be pictures, right now they are on Mom's camera. Also there's a small kind of plant stand/table thing that I'm going to use for my phone. Mom paid $3 for it at a garage sale. We've primed it and I have to decide what colors to paint it. SInce it's going in the living room it will be brightly colored.

She already touched up the paint on the dining room table and chairs so that's done. One of the short bookshelves we decided had good paint on it. And most of the other stuff is primed and ready to paint. Once I get paint. Tomorrow I think we'll hit Wal Mart and find this craft paint they have that's in small pots and not those tiny little squeeze bottles.

Right now I have primer on my hands, arms, and feet.

Today we worked on more paiting. Final coat on the chest of drawers. Painted the knobs, although I'd really like to replace them with something kind of silver. Silver accesories will be through out the house. I love silver. Also put another coat of gloss black spray paint on the ratan table base -- it has a glass top.

Mom got this great idea for a side table --- it's an old suitcase and a, not a tv tray but like a luggage rack. The suitcase is attached to the rack. We put vintage style travel stickers and are going to replace the straps on the luggage rack with leather belts.

There's also this end table I've had forever. The top is all messed up from where I've put glasses down without coasters and the door doesn't close right. But it's got this great mother of pearl (looking) handle. So Mom and I spray painted it black, with a finish of gloss black and it looks fantastic. Tomorrow or Tuesday I'm going to get this silver paste and then I'll smear parts of that on there.

I stopped buying comics reguarlly back in Nov I think. I was spending way too much money and I decided to cut back.

Plus I didn't read the whole mega crossover thing with Batman so I'd stopped reading those titles. But I miss reading comic books. When I move, well, there will be less money. So I have to figure out which titles I really want to read and just get those.

I got approved for the extended credit limit on my card. So now I have a $5000 credit limit and I can pay for my car when it's ready.

This isn't exactly how I wanted to start of building credit, but everything worked out and I took care of this almost on my own. Except for Dad's signature. So go team me!

Talked to Grandma E this morning. She's all YAY you aren't dead from the car accident. I'm all -- YAY I'm not dead. Then she gets to the reason she's calling.

The doublewide is on the property! I'm all -- yeah! I know! cool.

And then she says "I'm hoping to be move on the 14th."

And I'm all: SqueeEleventyone!!! on the inside, on the outside I'm trying to be fangirlish. I have been planning to start moving stuff over the day after she moves out (boxes and stuff). But omigod! There's furniture to paint and walls to paint and omigod! I could be making an update from my own home in two weeks!!!

There will be pictures and a lot of "omigod! My house loves carrots! and my yard! See!!"

I just had the most amazing experience -- I looked out the sliding glass door and saw fireflies -- a bunch of them and finally I went outside.

As much as I want to move, living out here, with the acrage and the woods and lack of light it makes magic. Hundreds of fireflies all through the back, into the woods, flashing and twinkling like a bath full of glitter. It's just so amazing. I don't remember it being like this when I was a kid, but by the time we moved out here I was bit past the age to chase fireflies. Or I wasn't allowed to stay up this late.

But it's beautiful and I wish I could show you all. I can understand why people believe in fairies.

A lot of you probably know that here in Florida there is a 13 yr old girl in DCF custody who is pregnant and wants an abortion. DCF has claimed that they can't allow any one in their custody to terminate a pregnancy or have a sterilization procedure. They also said that she's too young to determine what the best course of action is for herself.

A judge has ruled and the girl will be allowed to have an abortion. DCF won't appeal. JEB isn't getting involved.

Terry Randall got invovled, wrote an "open letter" to JEB that was published in several places. He invoved Terri Schiavo's name. And spelled it wrong. How much time did he spend using her for his own purpose and he can't remember that there's no y in her name?

Of course I can just see the insane Religous Right going after this "activist judge".

I really loved those Five Things stories that everyone was writing. Is there a list someplace or an archive of all of them (or most of them)?

I'm about to either win or lose an ebay auction.

I want this so bad but I'm not sure I should go much higher AND there's another set of books set to end soon. There's about 10 mins left and I really went over what I can spend. so on the one hand I want to lose and on the other -- omigod! childcraft 1954!!!! A full set! flail.

I won. I spent too much but the books are in better condition than mine -- and it's a complete set! So I can read those and not worry about mine falling apart.

Christ I spent too much money on this.

I had a horrible dream last night, I woke up scared and confused and wishing there was someone with me, just to hold on to and be assured that it was just a dream. It started off kinda weird -- there was a dead skunk in the garage (I had total smellovision in that part) so I had to get a pitch fork and flip it over the fence.

Except it wasn't actually dead, just resting. Really. And it kept sneaking back into the garage and I kept getting rid of it. Turns out it had babies in the garage.

That was kind of weird but harmless.

Then the dream warped into me out side in the woods with some people and it was going okay. Until they were trying to kill me. I can't remember why, I think it was part of a game. I was so scared and didn't want to die and it wasn't going to be a fake game death but the real thing. I kept trying to run away from these people, but they had each other and vehicles and I was just trying to run across open fields and woods, etc.

There was a guy trying to help me, he was nice and trying to keep me alive and he was the dream version of a character or actor or Buffista -- I don't know, but it was someone from real life.

Finally I woke up, gasping and freaked out. I hate dreams like that.
