Collected Thoughts

I went to the beach this weekend. I got to see my second cousin's new little baby and he's so CUTE!!! And he totally looks like his dad (my cousin). I also got to see another cousin. A, she's really really sweet and kind of shy and I haven't talked to her since last year. She's 16 and going into the 11th grade and she plans to go to the state university to study fashion design. Her father is a Southern Baptist preacher, he's also very nice, but very devout and firm in what he believes. Now, his brother is the Southern Baptist preacher relative I have that I don't like. He's mean spirited and says hateful things about people around him and also people in general and I've had to hear racist trash from both him and his wife before and I hate it. A's dad isn't like that.

At one point A and I took a walk and I explained that if  I ducked out of dinner or left when political talk came So Friday I went to the doctor's office because I thought I might have a really really bad UTI or a kidney infection, except I didn't have a fever, but a pain in my side. The test they did at the office said I was fine but she sent it out anyway to double check. And since there's a pain and nothign to show for it I got a CT to see if I might have a kidney stone forming plus an order for blood work.

I got the blood work done today I'm still waiting to hear something from the Friday visit and I'm not sure when I'll have the results from the scan.  I was hoping to find out how much I weigh but the scale in the doctor's office put my weight at about 20 lbs lower than what the grocery store scale weighs me. I'm trying to find a more accurate, third source. My blood pressure is good  and the blood work will have a cholesterol level, I'm hoping that comes back okay.

My weekend was good. Work so far has sucked. I spent most of the afternoon listening to crappy hold music while calling way too many business looking for a discontinued product. I would have been happy after calling 5 or 6, but my supervisor wanted more so I ended up calling roughly 20 places, I gave  her a list of where I called. Hopefully she won't ask for me to call more.

My computer is being an ass again. So I can't check livejournal (now that it's working) or get caught up on B.org.

But hopefully lj will work long enough for me to say what I want and then I'll catch up later. Maybe not until Monday though because I'm going to the beach.

I finished watching Disc 4 of Sports night. I'm pretty sure their aren't more left because...well...I actually looked the other day on netflix but now I forgot. And I really like this show.  A lot. I like the people, I care about them. I love the cadence of the dialouge. If I knew more about sports it would probably be better.

Also it was new comic book day and I'd love to go on about that but I'm sleepy. Plus I have notes that I wrote about IC #1 that I want to put up at some point.

And finally I haven't been creative in awhile, no creative expression and I kind of want a hobby...a crafty kind of thing. I've gone through these phases in the past but since things are different now...

I don't think I'm a knitting type. I like decoupage, I think I want to try that. Except I found someplace online where a woman said she studied it for three years before she attempted her first project. That's just... I don't know if she means a big project like  a piece of furniture or any project. I just want to make things.

Today I got more comics! TT 7 & 8 and Black Canary:New Wings. And when the mail came so do Longbow Hunters.

I had no idea. I mean I've read GA 38 &39 but I think the artwork sucks so I didn't see the appeal of Ollie. Roy, sure. Ollie not until now.

Becuase I just got it I haven't really sat down and read it but skimmed through it, I wanted to know what happened so I could go back and enjoy it more. And I was skmming along, enjoying the artwork and writing and then I got to page 85.

Why can't the current issues of GA be drawn like that.

I realized today that the "smudges" on my glasses are actually scratches. A couple of really bad scratches too. I'm going to have to go find out what I need to do about getting new lenses and I need to find some kind of case to put them in at night. I'm pretty sure they've gotten this way from being knocked off the window ledge in the mornings.

Somehow I screwed up and didn't bookmark the site I was using to download some comic books...and now I can't find it.

And I need it. Otherwise I'm going to waste all my money on back issues.

However today I stayed strong..well that and I only had $4 to spend...I went to the comic book store to kill some time and I didn't buy anything.

Even though Green Arrow comics were calling my name.

I saw something today that totally squicked me out.

I was walking through the Jrs dept of JC Penneys (I had to go through there to get to the mall) and I glanced at a tshirt that made me do a double take. I thought I saw a burgandy top with glitter writing that said

"Brunettes do it better."

But, seeing as that was the Jrs department I must have read it wrong so I checked again. And that's what the shirt really said.

"Brunettes do it better."

Who the hell makes a shirt like that? What were they thinking????

my god I think I'm going to die. If the game follows the stats of previous games...well...I can't bring myself to type that.

the set up of hockey is way more exciting than the football set up.
