Collected Thoughts

I've just discovered something else that makes me happy--- slotting into place the comic that gives me a full run of a series.

So far that's just The Outsiders, and I have the tbp of the first issues, so I'd probably be even HAPPIER if I could slot in place the issues of those.

I found a place to store my comics, I have a plastic container where they and the tpbs fit stored horizontally. They are all bagged and boarded and the bags and boards stay in there too. The comics are the only things I own that are completly organized right now.

• watching a storm roll into the beach
• being at "my beach"
• reading to my friend's 2 yr old daughter
• watching Grandma's face when she figures out how do something with the computer
• the look on her face when I first showed her Project Gutenburg
• when I reread a book that I didn't like before and it clicks
• wearing my tiara
• buffista hugs (online and in person)
• a good hair cut
• walking barefoot in wet grass, rain puddles, and squelchy mud
• taking a shower after being really grungy (from the beach or exercise)
• bubble baths (I didn't know this until I tried Lush)
• my cat
• finding someone who likes the same dorky things as I do
• reading really good writing that blows my mind

 

Things my father shouldn't say to me EVER!!!:

(after Tampa Bay losing in OT) "Well, Calagry is the better team."

What on god's green earth possessed him to say that? I don't care if it's true I don't want to hear that the rival team is BETTER than my team. My team that is now 1 game away from losing the Stanley Cup.

There's supposed to be symphathy or commiseration or something.


Not that.

At the start of the Finals I didn't really care about Sutter one way or the other, but now---what a prick.

What put me over the edge was the article about the press conference. The one where Sutter implies that there is a conspiracy against Calgary---the poor, poor hated underdogs.

So now I have a team to hate and I really did need a team to root against all the time.

Nieminen got suspended for Game 5.

Hopefully Fedotenko or Kubina will be able to play by then. I'm going to assume that Vinnie won't be.

I was randomly sitting here when I suddenly remembered a religous tract kind of thing that we had at my Southern Baptist church way back when.

They were little comic books that told a story of how you would burn in hell for doing certain things. The only one I really remember is the D&D one. There was a poor soul who got so caught up in D&D that he almost thought he was his character. And then his character was killed and even though he begged the DM his character wasn't brought back to life.

So the kid hung himself. And then went to hell.

What I was thinking is that I'd love to collect all of those just because most were so bizarre. But I don't know what they were called or where to find them.

Today I almost went to the comic book store that's on the way home but then I rememberd that tomorrow is Wednesday so I'll stop by tomorrow.

Tampa Bay rocks!! ( but Calgary sucks )

This weekend I saw Hildago and Starsky and Hutch.

Hildago was very pretty to look at -- the scenery and Viggo. As far as being a drama, it was okay, the pretty horses, scenery, and ass kicking helped it.

I laughed my ass off at Starsky & Hutch. I kept thinking "oh my god they are so gay!!!!" I did have some questions about what the characterization was like in the series---but I have no desire to actually watch the series. I liked the movie and if there was a sequel I'd go see it but the actual characters do nothing for me.

I got my pictures developed and I need to get off my ass and put them online. They didn't really turn out because the stupid cheap ass disposable had to have the flash turned on every single time (and I didn't). Maybe if I had Photoshop I could fix some of the pictures, but I don't. Heck, my computer doesn't even meet the minimum requirements for the lastest verison of Photoshop.


Plus I have various things that need to go out in the mail.

God damnit! Tampa lost. And they played BADLY.

I'm rather bored at work, I could be working on two rather boring projects, but since I was told I work too fast I'm slowing down.

There's a ton of stuff I need to do before I leave for the f2f. My plane leaves at 6 am and the Lightning/Flyers Game 6 is on at 7:30 (or 7) so I have to get stuff done by 7 on Thursday.

So far my list reads:

• return stuff to Target
• go to mall for last minute things
• take a bath (also shave and use a face mask, my skin feels so gross)
• make sure all my clothes for the trip are clean
• PACK!!!
• get a blank tape in case there's a Game 7 (please god no game 7)
• clean out my car
• iron clothes (this actually should go before packing)
• find calling card

That's all I can think of right now. I don't think I'll be doing much work tomorrow either.

I broke down and did a free trial for Launchcast, I'll probably pay by the month. Listen to it so much at work that I exceed my usage limit to listen to my station. Right now I'm listening to the pop hits of the 80s. Careless Whisper was just on --- I had my first dance to that song.

Also I was informed that the coke machine only has 2 diet cokes in it and it and it won't be refilled until Friday. The person who told me this thought he should give me a warning -- he knows my cola habits.

I'm not sure if I'm going to watch the Angel finale tonight..I didn't actually watch last week's episode and I'm just not ready for Angel to be over. But I know that everyone will be talking about it. But I have stuff to do!

And yesterday I learned that Lush is discontinuing Gumback Smoothie Express. I love that stuff! Esp now that my skin is so dry. It's much lighter than Buffy the Backside Slayer. Plus it's the perfect thing to use before shaving.  If they ever discontinue Butterball I may just revolt.
