First, it's not a good idea to watch three episodes of The Shield in a row.

I've got to stop doing stuff like that.

Second, it's not a good idea to watch The Shield after watching The Wire. The Shield suffers in direct comparison with The Wire, I was vaguely disastified with it and wondering if I'd like it better if I'd waited. I don't have any problem with rogue cops but it seems that The Shield is trying too hard. Or maybe it's a little dumbedown, or both.

There are so many characters in The Shield, it feels cluttered and I haven't had a chance to care about any.

Although, Wire has a ton of characters, but they were introduced over time and frankly the show has a whole seems less cluttered.

I'm moving! in May! And they only raised the rent by $50.

I'm so stoked. I'm going to start going through my stuff at home and in storage to figure out what I want to keep or get rid of. And now I really need my tax refund for the Nola and vividcon.

This means I'll be getting rid of cable. I watch too much crap anyway and what I want, well, I'm sure I can acquire it some how. But phone + dsl is cheaper than cable+broadband+ phone. And I'm not getting rid of netflix.

I got the second dvd of The Wire. I want to rewatch the first three episodes first. And I got The Shield, I'm nto sure if I'm going to like it and I may be watching too many cop dramas.

If I sent someone some tapes could they make me copies of Twitch City? I'm not in any real hurry to see it, but at some point I'd like to.

I wasn't going to watch this movie -- The Magic of Ordinary Days, but I got totally sucked in, it was a fairly nice little movie, but it seemed rather crowded and not enough space for everyone to develop and the end seemed very very rushed. Like they suddnely realized there were only 10 mins left and several threads of the story still hanging. It would have been nice to see this developed as an actual movie with more time.

It's based on a book, I think all or most of the Hallmark movies are and I'm going to read it and hopefully that will satisfy me more.

Also, I don't want to go to work. But then that's normal.

I'm very tired right now, it was a long long day. Thank god it's friday. Hopefully my weekend won't go by too quick.

Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to take a nice long bath. To be a really relaxing bath I need duct tape to put over the overflow thing in the bath tub (otherwise I get in, get mostly in the water and all of the beautifully Lush scented water drains out), but I can't find the tape and I'm thinking maybe I just want to go to bed.

It's 8:30. Maybe I'm getting sick.

Yesterday I bought S1 of Homicide. I looked at The Wire, but since I'd only seen one episode at that point I didn't buy it. Now I don't think I can wait until the next disc gets here.

And on my way home I stopped by one of the locally owned record stores and picked up a Dar Williams cd, I've wanted to get one for awhile. I listened to it in the car, well I skipped around to the songs I'd heard before and a weird thing happened -- I started crying and I couldn't stop. I was driving, choking back sobs, and just trying to get home. I don't know what the trigger was or what happened I just feel so tired and so drained and I'm not sure why. I think I'll skip the bath and take a hot shower and crawl into bed.

This whole no computer thing at home is KILLING ME! seriously. it sits there and mocks me.

And then I had vcr problems. Dad has a maid service that comes in, they have a tendancy to unplug things, so I try to keep the vcr plugged into the power strip and the powerstrip out of the way. However when I came back Monday all plugs were unplugged --it's a really good thing I wasn't trying to tape anything (totally a first world problem). I got lazy and didn't reset the computer until last night --- and I couldn't get the set clock function to work. Good thing Lost was a rerun.

However, the Wire came and I watched the first episode. I really like this show, I'm intrigued by the characters and I really can't wait to see the next episode, but I'm rationing it becuase as much as I liked it I didn't feel up to 2 in a row. The episode was over just in time for me to watch the last half of Project Runway.

Oh and I caught a bit of Alias, I've never sat down and watched any of it but I'm going to add it to my Netflix queue.

I talked to Grandma's landlandy on Friday, they are going out of town for the week and hadn't thought about what to do wtih the place after Grandma leaves -- raise the rent, if they know anyone who wants it, etc. So I'm going to call next Tuesday to ask some questions. First I need to know if I can afford it, and then if I can, how much money I'll need up front. grandma thinks she'll be moving in June. Which means I could be moving in June! !!! Flails!!!

And if I can't get her place I've already had some recommendations for places to look at renting.

Tuesday I see my therapist and I can't wait to tell her all of this.

My cat is old and she has dandruff on her back, especially near her tail. Is there anything I can do about it?
