Collected Thoughts

I need some new icons. I accidentally deleted most of the ones I had.

I haven't been paying attention to the places that have good icons so I'm a little lost. Anyone have suggestions?

Also I was flipping through the channels and saw Obama being interviewed. He sounded very articulate and well spoken, even though I'm not sure what the interview was for. Except maybe to contrast wtih how idiotic and flailing Keyes sounded.

Keyes was saying something about how Obama wasn't really an African American, or true to his roots, or something and betraying "his" (meaning Keyes) heritage or people or something. He also started invoking the Constitution and mentioned abortion. I have no IDEA what he was rambling about. No clue, but he sounded like he didn't either.

I don't watch political stuff as much as I should (I tend to read it not watch it on tv) but what is it with Republican politicians who aren't good speakers?

So basically I've had everything in my room and tried not to let it overflow through the rest of the house.

Even though I live with a parent.

I'm finally staking out room in other parts of the house...but I've been here for...longer than'd like really.

So yesterday and today I've worked on my room. My dirty clothes pile is gradually getting smaller while the clean clothes pile is getting bigger. The clean clothes are in a pile because...well there's really no place to put my clothes which is part of the problem.

I'm moving in a tall bookshelf which will house my books. I'm hoping it will house all of them. And on the utility shelf I'm using as a book case I'm going to put plastic bins and things to keep my clothes that don't need to be hung up.

And I'm also getting rid of a lot of stuff. I'm not going to worry about selling it or seeing if anyone wants it, all of it is going to Goodwill except the stuff that isn't nice enough and that's being thrown out.

Later this week I'm going through my tapes. I still have a long way to go and I'm procrastinating.

Then there are all the piles of my stuff that have ended up in various corners of the house...usually from when I've cleaned out my car. I'll sort through that stuff later. Hopefully while I'm doing this I will find the DS9 disc I have from Netflix and the journal I started last month but haven't found in weeks.

A week or so back I bought a pack of play mice for my cat. I've discovered today that I really didn't need to. So far I've collected up a dozen of them.

I haven't watched much of the Olympics. Men's swimming and men's synchro diving have proved to be the most memorable for me.

Men's synchro for those itty bitty swim briefs they wear. They are practically wearing nothing at all...just lots and lots of skin...one of the British divers was really hot. The short one with the six pack. I'll definitly be watching the rest of the men's diving competitions.

Also in the men's swimming there were a few shots of the men getting ready to swim where you see that those suits really leave nothing for the imagination.

I had a really nice night last night...even though I just stayed on line.

permetaform and I chatted about vids, vidding, and came up with a totally cracked idea for a vid.

It's not the same as being at Vividcon. I shared with her the one Willow/Legolas vid I downloaded. And the Jesus embracing the guy in jeans drawing that is so homoerotic. There's no subtext it's just text. And it's Jesus. So I'm going to hell.

I had really really wrong, blasphemous thoughts and...but it was 2 am and look at the picture!! In a larger image (which I couldn't find) the guy's got this look of relief on his face. I'm sure it's supposed to be relief because he's going to be saved but all I can think is that he's looking like that because he's about to get some.

Also this image is available as a greeting card at Hallmark (I saw it a few months ago).

I just downloaded two vids. One zipped and I get the message that I've run out of room on my C drive.

Again.

Some of this will probably be solved if I defrag....because it's been a while and I've downloaded and deleted a lot of things. I could also try uninstalling programs I really really really don't need.

The money I had saved for a new computer went to pay bills. Not that I had a lot of money saved. So I'm back to square one and I keep telling myself that no one will give me a credit card so getting one and charging a computer isn't an idea I should entertain. But damnit!

I want a computer that doesn't suck.

stamps fit and throws a little tantrum

I discovered tonight that I didn't tape all of Rescue Me last week, just parts of it. But I watched some last night.

I WAS going to go to bed an hour ago...but...well I'll go soon.

After work I went to the store to pick up groceries and supplies. I went a little..okay moderately...overboard when buying things. But I was hungry.

Today was a pretty good day. Mom's birthday but she got sick from her birthday lunch so our dinner was postponed.

She called me to tell me that when she ran out to get something my brother called, he left a message singing Happy Birthday and that he'd call her later tonight or tomorrow. Mom claims that he sounded like he's got a bit of an accent...but he's only been there since Jan.

Also I took a nice bath with LUSH and shaved my legs (they feel so soft...)and right now I'm waiting for some laundry to finish up in the dryer and washer so I can switch things over. Tomorrow I'm going to the beach.

I've wondered this for awhile and finally decided to ask....

what's the deal with ratings on vids? Specifically Jossverse vids?

I can understand warning for explicit language or that Warren will be flayed or for SEeing Red.

But I don't get rating a vid R when it just has stuff from the show. Buffy was never an R rated show, even when they moved to UPN and didn't have to worry about standards.

That and whacked out crossover vids. I don't get that. Strange weird stuff like Willow/Legolas (I've downloaded one and seen another someplace). They aren't... I mean...how do you make them look shippy in a vid? The one vid I saw was more of a slide show dealie....

He's running against the 12 yr incumbant, a Democrat.

This is so wrong and I'd like to think that it wouldn't matter that he's a crack pot that believes in eugenics or that there's a "poverty gene" but in these times...god knows what would happen if he actually was elected.
